Everyday I wake up grateful for the experiences I have been privileged to have in my life. That is especially true working in the birth space, where information on best practices is constantly flying around.

For me, my insight into birth is the same as all of health and life - if we clear away all the external influences, all the shiny modern equipment and fancy words, we intuitively know how to birth.

All we need to do is keep our focus on nature (the stars), she will not let you down. The distractions of modern society (the ships), will easily lead you to information overwhelm.

A ship may be necessary if the night becomes dark and a knowledgeable captain can save your life if the tide gets extreme, but in all weather, keep your Natural Birth Compass as your guide and you will know when you need a ship and when you can simply follow the stars.
